Celiaria De Prisk — Demi-duchess of Klarianu

A painfully beautiful woman of 19, Celiaria De Prisk was next in line to the Demi-Duchess-dom of Klarianu until she ran away one morning when her lady’s maid accidentally pulled her hair while combing it. She traveled to Barend on a hired gilt stage guarded by four men-at-arms from her father’s (see Demi-Duke of Klarianu) personal employ.

Celiaria is generally spoiled, innocently snobbish and ineffectual.
Everyone pretty much views this as alright, since she is such a hottie.

Captain Lugo Harlon — Leader of the King’s Own Guard

Captain Harlon may be the man in charge of the King’s Own Guard, an organization having little to do with the King at all, but he is hardly an imposing figure or a competent leader. He began the King’s Own Guard to create employment for himself, and won the right to use the title “King’s Own” only after a lengthy court battle in which he argued that the “King” in “King’s Own” actually referred to a type of beetle common in compost heaps. No one could prove otherwise, so the name stuck.

Indeed, Lugo Harlon has much more in common with a compost-dwelling beetle than the King, except that they both have gray hair and suffer with occasional bouts of foot fungus.

Stinky Delfarthing — Drunken Informant

Stinky Delfarthing got his name by appearing to be stinking drunk most of the time. He rarely stinks in an olfactory way. He is, for a drunk old man, actually quite clean and well dressed. His long gray beard may be dribbled with ale and wine, but never sports a crumb or snarl. “Appearing” to be stinking drunk, you see, is a far cry from actually being stinking drunk.

When not at the bottom of his cups, Delfarthing’s eyes are pretty much everywhere else in Barend. He’s the guy to go to if you want to know something.
